American Neoclassicism, I wanted this piece to be large and dramatic. I also
wanted to show my skills for marbleizing, detailed hand painting,
stenciling, and rendering with light and shade. The carved frame sets off
the artwork beautifully. |

printed on canvas in a pale gray tone. Handpainting with glazes
created a realistic dimensional effect. Venetian plaster was
applied in two colors for the terracotta background. |
